Farcana Secures $10 Million Funding for Blockchain-Powered NFT Esports Shooter
A group of investors, including Animoca Brands, Polygon Ventures, Fenbushi Capital, Merit Circle, and others, successfully raised $10 million in early funding for the promising third-person multiplayer shooter game Farcana. The creation of Farcana, a novel blockchain-based game that pays top players with Bitcoin, is anticipated to gain momentum thanks to this funding.
The $10 million seed funding was provided by notable investors, including Hasu Capital, Dravus Investment, Kapo Capital, MMPro Trust, Unpopular Ventures, Emchain, and Rarestone Capital. The MENA-based Farcana project has an impressive team, which includes advisor Carlos “Ocelote” Rodriguez, the creator and former CEO of G2 Esports.
Creative Gaming in a Blockchain Environment
Farcana, which offers smaller, walled terrain and competitive game modes, takes influence from well-known games like Riot Games’ Valorant and Blizzard’s Overwatch. The game, which takes place in near-future Mars, features Axelar, a material that can grant superpowers. Players with Axelar-induced abilities compete for glory in Farcana’s tournament trial format, which sets it apart from other games.
Early Visibility and Strategic Cooperation
By working with Dubai’s Economy and Tourism department to organize a pre-alpha gaming test at the Dubai Esports Festival in June 2023, Farcana was able to obtain early exposure. The gaming community and investors were drawn to the team because of their inventive gameplay and strategic approach.
Blockchain components are included in Farcana’s creative strategy, which includes a tournament feature that pays out Bitcoin to the top 10% of players. With optional battle passes, NFTs, and crafting tools to improve the overall gaming experience, the game is available for free.
Integration of Polygons and the Future of NFT Mint
On December 19, Farcana scheduled a free mint for “Mars Enigma Vault” NFTs, utilizing the Ethereum scaling network Polygon. The game’s dedication to utilizing blockchain technology and giving gamers a flawless experience is demonstrated by this integration.
Important Farcana backer Animoca Brands pledged to help with both the game’s development and the impending free Bitcoin Ordinals mint. Yat Siu, chairman, and co-founder of Animoca Brands, believes that Farcana is leading the way in MENA area Web3 development and looks forward to the game’s impact on the expanding industry.
