Project 1000 Ignites Empowerment Across the Philippines
On May 2, 2025, ultra-marathoner Natalie Dau crossed the finish line at Jollibee’s 1,000th store in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Manila, completing a 1,000-kilometer run across North Luzon. This 12-day journey, part of Project 1000, showcased the Philippines’ resilient spirit while raising funds for local charities and inspiring communities.
The 53-year-old’s feat proved that determination knows no bounds, uniting Filipinos in a shared mission of empowerment.
Project 1000 Unites Local Partners
From April 21 to May 2, 2025, Natalie traversed North Luzon, starting in Santa Ana, Cagayan, and passing through Laoag, Vigan, Baguio, Tarlac, and Angeles, before reaching BGC. Covering 80–100 km daily, she battled injuries and focused on completion over speed.
While the first 1,000km run focused on Natalie’s journey of self-discovery, this second edition embraced community engagement and sharing her experiences.
Supported by partners like Jollibee, Asics, and YGG Pilipinas, Project 1000 raised AUD 31,625 (and counting) toward a AUD 50,000 goal on its GoFundMe page. Beneficiaries include the Bayani Scholarship Program, supporting education and empowerment.
YGG Pilipinas Joins the Cause
YGG Pilipinas covered Project 1000 from beginning until end, providing continuous social buzz on its pages and on the ground support.
Community member Jonneysnow coordinated Project 1000’s Zambales leg as point of contact (POC) and country manager Mench Dizon ran with Natalie across several provincial legs. YGG’s engagement reached its height when students from its partner community, the Sisters of Mary, participated in the final leg in BGC.
