You might be familiar with the concept of play-to-earn games, which are games you can play and earn Crypto-Assets as you progress through the game. Games like Axie Infinity and CryptoKitties have popularized these models and are extremely popular these days. However, what if a game paid you for each skill you mastered? That’s what Metacrafters aims to do – teach you Web3 and Blockchain skills while you earn tokens and NFTs!

Metacrafters is a new game made by Proof of Learn, a Web3 company co-founded by tech veteran Sheila Lirio Marcelo, Kevin Yang, and Lauren Tornow. Proof Of Learn (POL) is partnering with Yield Guild Games (YGG) at the start to help fund scholars in the Philippines.

The Blockchain opens up a world of possibilities to businesses around the world. However, there are still a lot of barriers to the mass adoption of Blockchain for businesses. For one thing, they are expensive and complex to develop and for another, they are quite complicated to use and not very accessible for the average person. This is where Metacrafters comes in. Metecrafters lets students make money while they study Web3 fundamentals. By playing Metacrafters students can earn tokens as they unlock learning milestones.

As students learn, they can earn back the amount they’ve paid in tuition and rewards to boot. Completing in-game courses gives the student an official Proof of Learn NFT that acts as a diploma, as well as a treasure NFT that can be traded on the marketplace.

Many will come to Web3 through play-to-earn games, but we’re excited to see other versions of the X-to-earn model, such as MetaCrafters’ learn-to-earn. Proof Of Learn is backed by VCs like Wavemaker Partners, Infinity Ventures Crypto, Learn Capital, and many others. The first version of the game is set to be released between June to September 2022.
